With the implementation of Hola Video Relay Services (HolaVRS), TLCDHH is taking the lead in reaching out to the Latino deaf and hard of hearing community in Texas and across the United States.

AUSTIN, TX – 10/27/07, 2007Texas Latino Council of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TLCDHH) is pleased to announce the implementation of the Hola Video Relay Service (HolaVRS). This is a tremendous opportunity for TLCD as they form an affiliate outreach partnership with CSDVRS, LLC.  HolaVRS joins more than 30 CSDVRS ClearBlue Outreach Affiliates across the United States.
CSDVRS introduced the ClearBlue Outreach Affiliate Program after many months of research and testing. Today, ClearBlue provides unmatched support for affiliates who want to offer a video relay service to their members and communities. The goal of ClearBlue is to provide a new level of outreach services to contact deaf and hard of hearing people and educate them on the availability of video relay. For more information regarding CSDVRS’ ClearBlue Outreach Affiliate Program, interested individuals can email at email at GetClearBlue@csdvrs.com.

HolaVRS will become a driving force in empowering deaf and hard of hearing Latinos to focus on increased awareness, accessibility and ensured civil rights in the State of Texas and across the country.

About TLCDHH

Texas Latino Council of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TLCDHH) was created to promote and maintain Latino culture and awareness within Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities across Texas. TLCDHH also aspires to offer its members exciting and unique opportunities to address various issues on an interdisciplinary level based on research, industry, education, and public life, which bring more understanding to the issues that affect our daily lives and allow us to enhance our personal and professional development. Plus, TLCDHH seeks to enrich the experience for its members by sponsoring activities which promote cultural enrichment and social interaction. In addition, TLCDHH endeavors to expose Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth to the richness, diversity, and excitement of Latino culture in hopes of instilling confidence and pride in them for their Latino culture and ability to pursue and achieve their dreams.

About CSDVRS
CSDVRS, a rapidly growing provider of video relay services, launched its inaugural service to the nation in 2000. By 2001, CSDVRS was the nation’s only 24/7 provider, and was also the first to offer Spanish VRS, video mail and Personal 800 Numbers. CSDVRS was developed by and for deaf and hard of hearing individuals based on feedback from the nation’s deaf and hard of hearing community. We knew that this community had a right to a functionally equivalent way to communicate that was more fluid than the sometimes cumbersome traditional relay service.

Today, CSDVRS stands alone as the pioneers of the VRS industry. While other providers have followed our lead, CSDVRS is dedicated to that same spirit of innovation and commitment to excellence that took VRS from a dream, to reality, to the nation’s premier VRS provider.
